M.\u00d6&#8217;den 21. y\u00fczy\u0131l&#8217;a kadar \u015eark hi\u00e7bir zaman s\u00fcrg\u00fcnlerden azade kalmad\u0131. Bu co\u011frafyan\u0131n halklar\u0131 gibi ayd\u0131nlar\u0131 da hep s\u00fcrg\u00fcnlere maruz kald\u0131. S\u00fcrg\u00fcn adeta bu kadim hikmet co\u011frafyas\u0131n\u0131n kaderi olmu\u015ftur. Bask\u0131c\u0131 krall\u0131klar, diktat\u00f6rler ve askeri cuntalar i\u00e7in hakiki entelekt\u00fcel ve m\u00fctefekkirin varl\u0131\u011f\u0131 hep bir sorun olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. \u015eark\u0131n hakiki ayd\u0131nlar\u0131 da hi\u00e7bir zaman halklar\u0131n\u0131n veya vatanlar\u0131n\u0131n maruz kald\u0131\u011f\u0131 y\u0131k\u0131mlara bigane kalmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00fcrg\u00fcn hem davetkard\u0131r hem de k\u0131\u015fk\u0131rt\u0131c\u0131d\u0131r; ancak her hal\u00fckarda s\u00fcrg\u00fcnde ya\u015famak korkun\u00e7 bir travma deneyimidir. S\u00fcrg\u00fcn, insan ile do\u011fup b\u00fcy\u00fcd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc yer aras\u0131nda, benlik ile benli\u011fin hakiki yuvas\u0131 aras\u0131na konulmu\u015f derin ve kapanmayan bir hendektir. Ondaki keder ve h\u00fczn\u00fcn tarifi yap\u0131lamaz. Tarih ve edebiyat, her ne kadar s\u00fcrg\u00fcn\u00fc kahramanl\u0131k, romantik, \u015ferefli ve onurlu ufuklar a\u00e7an bir olgu olarak tasvir etseler de; t\u00fcm anlat\u0131lanlar, hikayeden, yabanc\u0131la\u015fman\u0131n ve yaln\u0131zla\u015fman\u0131n k\u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fcmle\u015ftirici ac\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 hafifletme gayretinden ba\u015fka bir ama\u00e7 ta\u015f\u0131maz. Hayat\u0131 s\u00fcrg\u00fcnde ge\u00e7en Filistinli \u00fcnl\u00fc d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr Edward Said, s\u00fcrg\u00fcn halini &#8216;K\u0131\u015f Ruhu&#8217; adl\u0131 kitab\u0131nda \u015f\u00f6yle tasvir eder: &#8216;S\u00fcrg\u00fcnde elde edilen kazan\u0131mlar sonsuza dek arkada b\u0131rak\u0131lm\u0131\u015f bir \u015feyin kaybedilmesiyle s\u00fcrekli olarak baltalan\u0131r.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Her ne kadar M\u0131s\u0131rl\u0131 ayd\u0131nlar i\u00e7in \u0130stanbul bug\u00fcn bir s\u00fcrg\u00fcn karargah\u0131 olmu\u015fsa da, Osmanl\u0131&#8217;n\u0131n son d\u00f6nemlerinde Osmanl\u0131 ayd\u0131n\u0131n s\u00fcrg\u00fcn yedi\u011fi ana merkezlerden biri M\u0131s\u0131r idi. M\u0131s\u0131r&#8217;a kimler s\u00fcrg\u00fcn edilmedi ki, siyaset\u00e7isinden edebiyat\u00e7\u0131s\u0131na, akademisyeninden sanat\u00e7\u0131s\u0131na b\u00fct\u00fcn Osmanl\u0131 ayd\u0131n\u0131n ka\u00e7\u0131p s\u0131\u011f\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131 birer limand\u0131 \u0130skenderiye ve Kahire. Kahvehanelerinde ayd\u0131nlar T\u00fcrk\u00e7e m\u00fcnazaralar yapar, matbaalar\u0131nda T\u00fcrk\u00e7e dergi ve kitaplar bas\u0131l\u0131rd\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Sultan Abd\u00fclhamid&#8217;in iktidar\u0131 d\u00f6neminde M\u0131s\u0131r&#8217;da s\u00fcrg\u00fcnde ya\u015fayan y\u00fczlerce ayd\u0131n aras\u0131nda iki nevi \u015fahs\u0131na m\u00fcnhas\u0131r isim vard\u0131; Biri \u015fair E\u015fref di\u011feri ise Neyzen Tevfik&#8217;tir. \u0130kisi de \u015fair, n\u00fcktedan ve sert siyasi ele\u015ftirileri ile bilinirler. 1908&#8217;de ilan edilen \u0130kinci Me\u015fr\u00fbtiyet&#8217;e kadar 8 y\u0131l Kahire&#8217;de ya\u015farlar. M\u0131s\u0131r&#8217;\u0131n kahvehanelerinde ve kul\u00fcbelerinde s\u00fcrg\u00fcndeki dostlar\u0131 ile bir araya gelir vakit ge\u00e7irirlerdi. Kimi zaman da M\u0131s\u0131r&#8217;a ka\u00e7\u0131p gelen ayd\u0131nlara sahip \u00e7\u0131kan Prens Mehmet Ali Pa\u015fa&#8217;n\u0131n evinde bulu\u015furlard\u0131. \u015eiddetli tart\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n ya\u015fand\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu mahfillerde \u015fair Neyzen Tevfik konuklara saatlerce ney \u00fcflerdi. Kahire J\u00f6n-T\u00fcrklerin de ka\u00e7\u0131p s\u0131\u011f\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131 yer oldu\u011fu i\u00e7in Neyzen Tevfik, bazen birilerinden yard\u0131m istedi\u011fi zaman &#8216;Git ba\u015f\u0131mdan con musun, cin misin&#8217; diye tepki g\u00f6rd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fc ifade eder.<\/p>\n<p>Neyzen Tevfik, M\u0131s\u0131r saray\u0131n\u0131n oldu\u011fu gibi M\u0131s\u0131r sokaklar\u0131ndaki serseri insanlar\u0131nda \u00e7ok sevildi\u011fi ki\u015fi olmu\u015ftu. Paras\u0131 oldu\u011fu zamanlar M\u0131s\u0131r saray\u0131na davet edilmi\u015f orada ney \u00fcflemi\u015f taltiflere Mazhar olmu\u015f, paras\u0131 olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 zamanlarda Kahire ve \u0130skenderiye sokaklar\u0131nda serseriler ile vakit ge\u00e7irmi\u015f ve onlara da ney \u00fcflemi\u015ftir. M\u0131s\u0131r halk\u0131n\u0131n yerel Arap\u00e7a lisan\u0131n\u0131 da \u00f6\u011frenen Neyzen Tevfik, hem zengin hem fukara M\u0131s\u0131rl\u0131lar\u0131n gece alemlerinde aranan ismi olmu\u015ftur. Neyzen Tevfik, bazen el-Ezher \u00dcniversitesi&#8217;nde \u00fcnl\u00fc M\u0131s\u0131rl\u0131 alim Muhammed Abduh&#8217;un tefsir derslerine de i\u015ftirak etmi\u015ftir. Dostlar\u0131 alkol ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131s\u0131 Neyzen Tevfik&#8217;i alkolden al\u0131koymak i\u00e7in s\u00f6z alsalar da Neyzen her zaman ki ak\u015fam\u0131nda yeminini bozmu\u015ftur. Bundan dolay\u0131 T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;de &#8216;Neyzen T\u00f6vbesi&#8217; bir deyim haline gelmi\u015ftir. Neyzen Tevfik, Kahire&#8217;deki g\u00fcnlerini b\u00fcy\u00fck oranda \u015fair E\u015fref ile ge\u00e7irmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<p>1908&#8217;de \u0130kinci Me\u015fr\u00fbtiyet&#8217;in ilan\u0131nda T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;ye d\u00f6nen Neyzen Tevfik&#8217;i ailesi \u0130zmir&#8217;de kar\u015f\u0131lam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ailesi Neyzen&#8217;in M\u0131s\u0131r&#8217;da uzun y\u0131llar saraylara davetli oldu\u011funu bildi\u011fi i\u00e7in zengin olarak \u00fclkeye d\u00f6nece\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr. Fakat Neyzen Tevfik \u00fclkeye yan\u0131nda bir k\u00f6pek ve bir bavulla \u00e7\u0131kagelir. Neyzen Tevfik, babas\u0131n\u0131n &#8216;Y\u0131llard\u0131r M\u0131s\u0131r&#8217;da ne yapt\u0131n?&#8217; sorusuna Ezher Medresesi&#8217;nde \u015eeyh Muhammed Abduh&#8217;dan ders ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 cevab\u0131n\u0131 verir. Babas\u0131n\u0131 hayal k\u0131r\u0131kl\u0131\u011f\u0131na u\u011fratmamak i\u00e7in fazla ayr\u0131nt\u0131ya girmek istemez.<\/p>\n<p>Has\u0131l\u0131 kelam, bu co\u011frafya s\u00fcrg\u00fcnlerini ya\u015famaya devam ediyor. Edward Said, \u00f6nceki s\u00fcrg\u00fcnlerle, g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcz s\u00fcrg\u00fcnlerini birbirinden ay\u0131r\u0131r. Ona g\u00f6re, modern sava\u015flar, emperyalizm ve bask\u0131c\u0131\/zorba y\u00f6neticilerin yar\u0131-teolojik ihtiraslar\u0131 bu ayr\u0131\u015ft\u0131rmada \u00f6nemli bir rol oynamaktad\u0131r.
